The New Plymouth District Council Dog Pound is a holding facility for impounded dogs on Rifle Range Road in Waiwhakaiho. Dogs are held while staff try to contact their owners, with unclaimed dogs assessed for behavioural and temperament suitability before rehoming. Owners can contact the council about lost or impounded dogs, and adoption information is provided for dogs ready for new homes.
